Screening films in educational institutions
Under UK copyright law, educational institutions such as schools, colleges,
universities and PTA's wishing to screen a film in an extracurricular setting will generally require a licence from the copyright owner or its representatives.
The Public Video Screening
Licence (PVSL) allows you to legally organise ad-hoc
screenings of films from our participating studios.
Please note that if the educational institution does not obtain the required licence, they risk infringing copyright.
Special notice to state-funded English schools: the Department for Education has
acquired a PVSL for state-funded English schools. Find out more.
