SAY ANYTHING
Lloyd Dobler is an irresistible slacker who becomes hopelessly mesmerized by the mysterious and brilliant valedictorian, Diane Court. To the shock and chagrin of most of his classmates, Lloyd works up the courage to ask Diane out. Diane, shy and skeptical, agrees to be his date to a raucous graduation party. She finds that Lloyd is not a typical teenage boy at all but rather a sensitive philosopher with a unique approach to life’s challenges. Lloyd in turn finds that behind Diane’s picture-perfect exterior is a collection of troubles nobody ever suspected. Just when they realize they have more in common than not, Diane’s world is turned upside down. She discovers that her father, the cornerstone of her life, has been lying to her for years and stealing money from the elderly who live in the retirement home which he runs. Her trust shattered, Diane and Lloyd struggle to hold on to the connection they’ve found and navigate their way through their young relationship.
