RAPID FIRE
When an art student named Jake Lo (Brandon Lee) accidentally witnesses a drug murder, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a war between two powerful drug lords. Jake is placed into protective custody, but soon discovers that he’s been set up and betrayed by the federal agents who were supposed to be protecting him. Lo befriends Mace Ryan (Powers Boothe), a Chicago cop who reminds the young man of his deceased father. Together, the unlikely pair uses a combination of martial arts training and old-fashioned street smarts to take on both sides of the drug war. Brandon Lee, the son of legendary martial arts star and screen personality Bruce Lee, made only a small handful of films before his untimely death, and RAPID FIRE stands among them. Lee, Boothe and a strong supporting cast that features Nick Mancuso and Raymond J. Barry make this film better than standard kick-boxing fare.
