Synopsis:

Unable to find work, and forced to put off his marriage, after returning from World War I, a young man begins a tragic downward spiral. Upon conviction for bootlegging, he is imprisoned and forms a gang. After release, he commits murder in a gang war, and is mortally wounded. According to his deathbed request, the needless waste of his life is made public by his best friend, a priest, so that it should never happen again. A cautionary tale meant to help the returning veterans of WWII.
