Synopsis:
With the help of a sympathetic african-American naval psychiatrist, an alienated young black man recalls his horrific childhood, conquers his rage and learns to connect with a woman, while finally gaining the strength to search for his unknown paternal family and confront the mother who abandoned him. The psychiatrist in turn benefits from their relationship, which enables him to address his own troubled marriage.
