MO' BETTER BLUES
For Bleek Gilliam music has always been the most important thing in his life: his single-minded concentration on music forces everything else to take second place. This includes the women in his life, soft spoken school teacher, Indigo Downes, and aspiring singer, Clarke Bentancourt. however, he’s not interested in either. Bleep’s life is further complicated by the gambling problems of the band’s manager, Giant, whose only credential for managing the musicians is his childhood friendship with Bleek. Giant’s compulsive gambling, together with his total mismanagement, has left the Bleek quintet poised at the altar of success for longer than they should have been. Bleek dominates his band, and his narrow field of vision doesn’t leave room for dissent from anyone - not his lovers, fellow musicians, his manager - not anyone.
