Synopsis:
When the retiring Doctor Humbero Fuetes decides to seek out the students who he trained to work as doctors in the poorest villages of Mexico he is dissuaded from doing so by his most prominent patient, an army general. Learning of the rumoured 'men with guns' guerillas operating in some of these same areas Feutes is more determined than ever to find out the fate of his promising young students and sets off on his long journey encountering an assortment of people from an orphan to an ex-priest enroute.
