MANDELA AND DE KLERK
On June 12, 1964 Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment in what remains the most sensational treason trial in the world. Twenty-seven years later President F.W.de Klerk announced the legalisation of the African National Congress and Mandela was finally released from prison. 'Mandela and de Klerk' recreates the remarkable meetings in which the mighty power of South Africa negotiated the fate of an entire nation with a single prisoner and brought to a peaceful end, the era of apartheid.
