Synopsis:

Based on William Hjortsberg's novel ‘Falling Angel’ this stylish mystery thriller set in 1955 has seedy private eye Harry Angel engaged by mysterious businessman, Louis Cyphre to locate a certain Johnny Favorite, a big band from the pre-war days who failed to keep to the terms of a contract made with the menacing Cyphre. Clues eventually lead to New Orleans, where Angel is drawn into a dark netherworld of voodoo ceremonies, a nightmarish sexual encounters and ritual killings, moving to a horrifying climax powerful in its inexorable inevitability.
