Flipper, Harlem boy made good, is a successful, married black architect. Angie is his Italian-American secretary. The two mutually exclusive worlds collide in an affair with various violent repercussions and the outcast couple are forced to confront the hard-hitting realities of racial prejudices. The subplot focuses on the nightmare of America’s crack epidemic and on the daily discussions in the shop of Paulie (Turturro) and his pop.
