JOHN CARTER

War-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch, “Friday Night Lights”), the hero of this grand adventure, is inexplicably transported to Mars, known as Barsoom to its inhabitants. Stranded on this lush, wildly diverse planet whose main residents are 12-foot tall green barbarians, Carter becomes a prisoner of these creatures. When he escapes, he encounters captivating Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins, “True Blood”), Princess of Helium, and becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions. In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
