Synopsis:
A contemporary drama about an unusual form of heroism. A plane carrying 54 passengers, including star television news reporter Gale Gayley, crashes during a heavy rainstorm. A small time, down trodden crook, Bernie LaPlante, happens to be the first on the scene and finds he is obliged to save their lives, unconsciously risking his own. From that night onwards his life takes some much unexpected twists as he struggles to retain the love and respect of the son he adores and the wife he has lost.
