Synopsis:
While hitchhiking cross-country to see his California girl-friend, a New York piano player is innocently involved in an accidental death. He assumes the identity of the dead man, and proceedings spiral downward after he meets a vicious femme fatale en route. A noir cult classic, told in despairing flashback. Based on Martin Goldsmith's novel "Detour."
