CRIME AND MISDEMEANOURS
Woody Allen’s 19th film sees him back on familiar territory. Similar in tone to HANNAH AND HER SISTERS this is an ensemble piece, thought-provoking and at times funny. The film examines life and the moral choices people face, blending comedy and drama in the director’s own inimitable style. Once more Woody Allen has assembled a fine cast who all turn in formidable performances and those who found the straight-faced intensity of SEPTEMBER and ANOTHER WOMAN alienating should be delighted with this acclaimed return to form.
