Synopsis:

Debutante Joy Stanhope is in love with Chris Hansen, a penniless violinist, but is expected to marry into wealth. She hides her relationship with Chris, and, on the night of her coming out party, finds her dance card filled with partners – including wealthy Jimmy Wolverton, the most eligible bachelor in town. Chris, who had been understanding up to a point, becomes steamingly jealous when he sees Joy dancing with Jimmy. The argument turns into a night of passion – but just as she's about to tell Chris she's pregnant with his child, he announces that he's taking a gig in Europe. When he returns, he finds that she's married Jimmy. However, Jimmy has turned out to be a drunk. Eventually, Jimmy grants Joy an annulment, and she is finally free to marry Chris.
