THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE
Some things can't be learned. They must be remembered. Rannulph Junnah is the best golfer in Savannah. He has a great life and a great girl, Adele Invergordon, who's the daughter of a wealthy landowner. The First World War begins and Junnah goes to Europe to fight. The only survivor of a dangerous mission, he doesn't return to Savannah for 15 years. In 1930 he returns to find that Adele's father has committed suicide. She is being pressured by tax collectors to sell the golf course her father built to pay off debts, but vows to bring to Savannah the greatest match ever played on a golf course. She's able to round up the 2 best golfers of their time, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen, to play for $10,000. The townspeople insist on having one of their own compete, so Rannulph Junnah is called upon. He’s now an alcoholic and has lost his swing; But a mystic caddy, Bagger Vance, appears and teaches him the secret of the authentic golf stroke which also turns out to be the secret to mastering any challenge and meaning in life.
