Synopsis:

A young film star, frustrated by her fussy, devoted mother's micro-management of her life, runs away to join the government Youth Corps. She picks crops and stays at youth hostels with other teen-agers during WWII. Naive about life, she is ripe for teen romance, as her mother frantically searches.
