English singer, songwriter and actor David Bowie passed away in January 2016. Much loved for his roles in iconic Seventies and Eighties classics, we have taken a look at his impact on the silver screen:
- Labyrinth - A selfish 16-year old girl (Jennifer Connelly) is given 13 hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother when her wish for him to be taken away is granted by the Goblin King (Bowie).
- The Hunger - John (Bowie) is the lover of the gorgeous immortal vampire Miriam (Catherine Deneuve), and he's been led to believe that he'll live forever, too. Unfortunately, he quickly deteriorates into a horrible living death, and Miriam seeks a new companion.
- Inglorious Basterds - he may not have appeared in the film, but Bowie's epic song Cat People provided the musical accompaniment to one of Tarantino's film's most memorable scenes.
